The Georgetown Raiders continue the push for the post season tonight in Caledon at 7:30PM with a battle against the Admirals. Here’s what you need to know.

This will mark the fourth and final meeting of the regular season for these two clubs. Georgetown currently holds a 3-0-0-0 record against Caledon this season, with the latest battle being a 5-3 win back on December 2nd, 2023. Georgetown is outscoring Caledon 18-7 in the three meetings so far this season.

Caledon holds an 8-38-1-5 record this season, good for 22 points in 52 games and 11th place in the West Conference. In their last 10 games, Caledon holds a 2-8-0-0 record and is currently on a two game losing skid. Their latest result was a 3-1 loss to Milton on February 19th. At home this season, the Admirals are 6-17-3-0. Home special teams percentages for Caledon include 15.49% effective on the man advantage and 71.13% effective on the penalty kill. Leading scorer for the Admirals this season is #28 Deandres de Jesus (12-16-28).

The Raiders are currently sitting in a tie for fifth place in the West with the Burlington Cougars; both clubs reside at 57 points. Georgetown maintains a 26-19-1-4 record on the season. In their last nine contests, the Raiders are 6-3-0-0 and have won four of their last five games. Their last appearance was a 5-1 win over Stouffville on February 19th. On the road this year, the Raiders have managed an 11-12-2-0 record. On the man advantage, the Raiders are 16.67% effective away from home, while 77.06% effective on the penalty kill in the same manner. Leading scorer for the Raiders this season is #91 Quinn Tavares (24-34-58).

For Georgetown, this is another great opportunity to continue their recent winning ways. It has been a tough year for Caledon, and the Raiders need to capitalize on this. If the previous three meeting of these teams are any indication, the Raiders can score against the Admirals; expect a similar result tonight. Georgetown needs to find a way to draw penalties and use Caledon being on the penalty kill to their advantage. And, as I’ve written many times this year, Georgetown likes to score in bunches and off the rush. Monday in Stouffville was a great example of this, with the Raiders having lots of chances on 2 on 1’s and with forcing turnovers into quick rushes and shots through the neutral zone. Expect this to continue tonight. However, it should be noted that the Raiders can’t take Caledon lightly based on their record. The “all gas, no brakes”philosophy applies here. Score early, often, and never give up the lead are great keys to victory for Georgetown.

It’s shaping up to be another great game for your Raiders. Tune into the action as our push for the postseason continues on flohockey.tv at 7:30PM tonight!
