Coming off a disappointing 4-1 loss in Leamington last night, the Raiders look to rebound this weekend with 2 games on the card.
Saturday, Nov. 4 at 5:30PM the Raiders return home to take on the Collingwood Blues. This will be the first meeting of the season for the clubs. Last season, the Raiders ended the regular season schedule in Collingwood where things got quite scrappy between the teams in the third period. This will be the first meeting since then, so expect a slightly-heated affair.
The Blues are coming off a dominant 10-0 win against Milton last weekend, before heading to Burlington on Nov. 3 for a match with the Cougars. Saturday’s game will mean the Blues are on the second half of a back to back, meaning the Raiders have an opportunity to pounce on a potentially tired opponent. Collingwood is 1st in the western conference with 34 points in 19 games, good for a 17-0-2-0 record. Impressive to say the least, but your Raiders will be up to the task. After the loss last night to the Flyers, GTown now maintains 5th in the west with 23 points and a 10-7-0-3 record. Collingwood’s leading scorer is Dylan Hudon, with 35 points in 19 games. Georgetown’s leading scorer is Quinn Tavares with 24 points in 20 games played. One key area to look for is Collingwood’s power play which has a success rate of 26/42 (61.9%) this season. Georgetown needs to stay out of the penalty box to have a good chance to win this game. The Blues’ penalty killing has only given up 7 goals this year, as well.
The Raiders look to take down the mighty Blues Saturday night at you can be there! Please note a new puck drop time of 5PM at Alcott Arena. Tickets are $15.00 at the door.
Sunday, Nov. 5 at 2:30PM sees the Raiders travel to Herbert H. Carnegie Centennial Centre to take on the North York Rangers in a matinee affair. Another first meeting of the season for the Raiders and an opponent. The Rangers currently sit at 12th place in the eastern conference with a record of 2-14-1-1, good for 6 points. Leading scorer of North York is Jacob Strizzi with 17 points in 16 games played. A bright spot for the Rangers this season has been the penalty kill, which sits at approx. 75%. The Rangers will try to snap a 4 game losing streak Sunday afternoon, but your Raiders have eyes on heading back to Halton with 2 points in the bucket. It sets up to be an exciting matchup, and we don’t want you to miss it. Tune into the game on Flohockey.tv at 2:30PM Sunday afternoon.
