Your Georgetown Raiders are headed back to the Ontario Junior Hockey League playoffs!
The Raiders currently sit in 7th spot in the West Division with 61 points, nine points clear of Brantford for 8th place. Georgetown is only one point behind Oakville for 6th place, two points behind Burlington for fifth place. With just two regular season games left on the schedule this weekend, the Raiders could jump up to fifth or sixth in the Division, or remain in seventh place heading into the playoffs.
Georgetown plays the Buffalo Jr. Sabres this Saturday night at 5:30PM at home. The next day, the squad hits the road for the regular season finale in Markham against the Royals the following afternoon at 1:30PM. Oakville’s remaining schedule includes the following: March 1 vs. Toronto Jr. Canadiens, March 2 @ Toronto Patriots, and March 3 vs. Buffalo Jr. Sabres. Meanwhile, Burlington’s remaining schedule is March 1 vs. Toronto Patriots, March 2 @ Trenton Golden Hawks, and March 3 @ Milton Menace. The standings could look dramatically different come Monday morning for a few teams.
For the Raiders, a playoff berth marks another successful season of hardwork. However, this is only the beginning. The goal is a Championship run, and the Raiders know that the work begins now. With two more matches to sharpen their grooves, the excitement is in the air in the locker room.
The schedule for Round 1, as well as our opponent, will be announced next week. Like the regular season, all Raider game will be broadcast on flohockey.tv.
