The Georgetown Raiders Hockey Club begins their quest for a Centennial Cup Championship on Saturday at 5:30PM vs. the Toronto Patriots. The Raiders try to follow up last year’s successful season which saw them finish 3rd overall and have the 2nd best record in the last 9 years in Georgetown. The support for team was outstanding, especially in the playoffs where they averaged close to 600 fans packing the Alcott.
Seven players are returning from last year’s squad including local product Jack Guvenal who will playing in his fourth and final season with the Raiders. The Raiders are proud to point out that eight players from last years team have graduated to the NCAA or OHL.
Returning behind the bench is Shawn Snider who was an OJHL Coach of the Year Finalist. Also returning are Mike Dukeshire who was the OJHL’s General Manager of the Year, and Aaron Nagy who was an OJHL Finalist for Executive of the Year.
