The Raiders were in action Thursday, Oct. 5 at the Mayfield Sports Complex to face the Caledon Admirals. The Raiders found themselves down 2-0 quickly in the first period, before Carter Real and Kristian Lamanna managed to get the Raiders to even heading into the first period. The Raiders took over from there and never looked back, with Quinn Tavares and Kaleb Nelson each scoring two goals in the remainder of the game. The Raiders took the contest 6-3. Goaltender Finn Wilson stopped 29/32 shots in the victory, while Nicholas Von Kaufmann stopped 37/43 Raiders shots in the loss. The Raiders peppered Caledon with 43 shots in 3 periods. An important victory on the road for the Raiders to get the weekend started.

Saturday night the Raiders returned home to face bitter Battle of North Halton rivals, the Milton Menace. Any time the Raiders and Menace face-off, one can expect a chippy and closely contested affair. The Raiders unfortunately fell 3-0 in this game. Menace goalscorers were Alexander Siletsky, Sett Ursomarzo, and Ivan Fabjan. Raiders goaltender Finn Marshall stopped 32/35 shots in the loss. Glen Crandall stopped all 30 Georgetown shots in the game. An unfortunate loss to a bitter rival for Georgetown.

However, the Raiders looked to finish the weekend on a high in Mississauga Sunday night against the Chargers. The last time these two teams met, the Raiders managed an 8-3 win on home ice.  Last night’s contest was a closer affair, with the teams knotted at zeros for two period. The Raiders exploded for three goals in the third period courtesy of Carter Real, Aaron Andrade, and Justin Huynh for a 3-0 victory. Goaltender Finn Wilson recorded his first career OJHL shutout in the victory. A good way to finish the weekend!

As of today, the Raiders sit at 4th in the Western Conference with 14 points and a 6-5-0-2 record. With two more games this coming week, the Raiders take aim at moving even higher in the West. Stay tuned for the preview article!
